The most dangerous place to be is where God used to be. Ouch. Don't look back. The past has passed. When Lot's wife looked back (after she was warned not to in Genesis 19:17) she turned into a pillar of salt (read Genesis 19:26). How many of us are stuck and not moving forward? Is it because we're too busy looking back that we fail to recognize what's in front of us? We can't enjoy what God has prepared for our future because we're still caught in a time warp of yesterdays, sorrows, and regrets.
God knows where we're headed. He tries to get us back on track, but only if we allow Him to do it. It's our choice. He will never force us to do anything. He did not create us to be robots. We have free will. When we acknowledge Him through His word, He will show us His ways. If not, we can't understand the path He has for us and we will continue getting stuck on those crooked roads. God's hand is big enough to guide us back to the right road. God is big enough. He is bigger than our problems!
We must have determination to move forward. It's our choice. If it's of God, let's press on. We will make it.
He will direct our PATHS, not just one path. We need to let His word guide us, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalms 119:105 NKJV). He doesn't give up on us because He understands the world we live in and that we will make bad choices at times. He recalculates for us. He directs us through His word. He directs us through the Holy Spirit. We can't go by our feelings and emotions. Not only will feelings and emotions lead us down a crooked path--they will take us around the mountain and over the edge of a cliff.
God can make it nice, easy, and simple for us when we make the right choices through Him. Wrong choices will cause a lot of heartache. We can ask just about anyone about the wrong choices made in life and they can testify!
Another dangerous place to be is where God hasn't gone for us yet. Let's not get ahead of God. He has a reason for everything He does and His timing is perfect, even though it may seem to us as if He is taking too long! Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding". We are to acknowledge Him about everything in our lives and allow Him to give us the direction we need. Without this, saints, we are headed for trouble! Too many times, our decisions put us on the wrong path and lead us through a winding road of destruction that we could have avoided if we had listened to Him in the beginning. He wants us to succeed. He wants us to prosper in all that we do! Read Jeremiah 29:11--this is His great love for us.
Psalms 18:32-36 reminds us that our Lord is the one who gives us strength (enough physical strength to break a bow of steel!) and makes our way perfect. He gives us the understanding we need for whatever situation we are in. James 1:5 tells us that the Lord will give wisdom "liberally" to all who ask. He makes us swift enough that we can overtake our enemies-not flee from them. He wants us on the offense, not the defense. He gave us the armor of God to cover our front side that we may face our enemy, not run from him with our backside exposed (Ephesians 6:13-17)!
He enlarges our steps beneath us so that we do not slip or fall. God protects us and makes a way for us-even when our circumstances seem impossible to overcome. God can do anything. He is our lawyer, our defender, our friend. He stands against those who come against us. He becomes angry on our behalf. We are His children, His precious chosen ones and He will do all He can to protect us and keep us safe.
Declare today, "My God is bigger than my problems!"
